Inland marine insurance is a type of property insurance that covers goods, tools, equipment, and other movable property while in transit over land or temporarily stored at a location other than your main business premises.

Despite the name, it has nothing to do with the ocean. The term comes from the early days of shipping insurance when policies were expanded to cover inland transport (by truck, train, etc.).
